Very Poor!!!i have been with firenet since about dec 07, i was still paying for my service even though my fone was switched of from april untill aug 08, i got my fone switched back on and got a new number i rang firenet 2 get my broadband switched 2 my new num, they did this 4 me an i was up an running in 5 days, then about a week later i noticed on my bank statement firenet had took £58.75 so i rang them about this and they said this was a reconnection fee that b.t charged for connecting up again for my broadband. noone told me there was a fee 2 be paid when i foned them up, they took this money from my bank without asking me. i to have spoke 2 three different people about this and am getting nowhere, i just wanted them 2 no that i didnt give permission 4 them 2 go into my bank 4 this. They will not refund this charge and are arguing that I was informed verbally of this part of their contract - a document which they have never provided me with might I add. I was also charged for the first 3 months for broadband whilst they blamed BT for problems that they were having processing my request for broadband but when I contacted BT they told me they could find nothing wrong with my line at their end -these amounts were also not refunded. Now they are saying I signed-up to a new contract period when I notified them of my new telephone number, which might I add is simply a change of number on the line which my firenet has always been on as I have not moved house- I simply had a change of telephone number due to reconnection after my house was rewired and continued to pay for my Firenet during this period.

Was with firenet from 2004 until 29/8/08.
had problems from September 2007 until now. Net always crashing - at one point I had no net service for 5 wks but they were still happy to take my money. Since Sep 07 I have spoken to just about everyone I think who works there - the only one who fixed the problems was John & he was the only one who returned calls when he said he would.
Last year I was advised by Senior Supervisor ( who was always nice to talk to and funny ) to put details of my lack of service in an email & they would do something like adjust future payments to compensate.
I have still not received a reply to any emails ( have incident ticket numbers) or calls re matters . Called at beginning of August 2008 for Mac code as I had had enough. Spoke to 3 different people who all told me different time lengths for obtaining code. Was assured that no further payments would come out of my account . Payment came off on 2/9/08. Called on that date & spoke to Senior Supervisor ( back from holiday) who was really nice & was disgusted ( or so he said ) about the treatment I had received re lack of service. He also stated that if I put everything in an email & sent it to him my last payment would be refunded but it was unlikely to be refunded that day but most likely by the end of business the following day. Two calls later, none of which he was available for I have been told that no payment will be refunded - no explaination as to why none of my emails or calls ever returned - and that the Senior Supervisor never mentioned the word refund to me. Basically I am a liar, which really upset me as I had always had a good relationship with him and others. At the end of the day the money wasn't the most important thing it was the really poor customer service and constantly being fobbed of by charming chit chat.
I was really disgusted that the Senior Supervisor would not face up and even speak to me. Tis a shame cos I was really happy with Firenet until last year and probably would have remained with them had I not been constantly fobbed off. Sadly I could not recommend their service to anyone. I am sure there are people like me who at the end of the day just want a good service and honest explainations and that ALL staff work of the same sheet. If people are going to tell you things just to get you off the phone then they should have the guts to speak to you and say they got it wrong not hide behing their co workers. We're all human & mistakes do happen but untriths are a different matter. This Senior Supervisor also told me in September last year that if I was ever thinking of changing provider to give him a call & he would advise me on who to go to even though he shouldn't really! But hey I probably dreamt the whole thing just like Bobby in the shower!!
Have never posted a comment on the net before for anythin nor written a letter of complaint but I am really annoyed.
Big Fat ZERO rating from me!

I have been with firenet for over 4 years and any issues are always dealt with quickly, never experienced a problem with capping and although I am on 2mb I regularly get speeds of 6mb and run 3 PC's through a router. I joined them after they won an award for best ISP. I think the capping was introduced because some people were abusing it by downloading 24/7 and speeds became slow at peak times. No problems now though, top notch ISP that I would find hard to replace.

I have been with Firenet for a number of years, and would like to put in a good word about the fantastic support I have always had on the occasions when I have had to call them. They have always been patient, cooperative and helpful.

Things still not back to normal here. Firenet's response to a large volume of customer complaints seems to be to argue with customers, then close the thread on the forums.
NB: Firenet apparently also does not give departing users their MAC code, which makes it harder (and more expensive) to sign up with another ISP. This practice will become illegal during 2007.
Am now eagerly looking forward to my new ISP, and to having truly unlimited bandwidth (as opposed to unlimited bandwidth which firenet requests me not to use) at four times the speed I (should) have with firenet, for no extra cost! It pays to shop around.

I am also with firenet, and was fairly happy until recently.

For the past few weeks things have seemed slower than they should be. Since sometime last week, they've been slower than dial-up. Firenet is aware of this problem (see the forums on their website) but has so far failed to correct it.
I'm moving house soon, and will be taking the opportunity to move ISP at the same time.
